Dating Advice For Teenage Girls

Sometimes it is hard to talk to teenagers and especially when it comes to dating you might find that this is a tough time in a girl's life. Dating advice for teenage girls can range from what to wear on dates, how to act, what to expect from boys, and more. When you start dating as a teenager, things can be complicated and confusing. Many different emotions run through you and you will start to have feelings that are not quite sure what to do with.

Getting Asked Out

Dating Advice For Teenage GirlsOne of the things that girls find hard is the getting asked out stage. Boys are terrible at asking girls out and sometimes you know that they like you, but you can't quite get from that to a date.

Remember, it is not bad to ask the boy out first, but you should maybe hint at the fact that you would say yes if he asked. This gets the whole fear of rejection aspect out of the way and the boy will be more comfortable asking. You could mention that you would love to go see that new movie showing and you are free this weekend to do it, but you have no one to go with, and see how far that gets you. If the boy is really shy, then maybe suggest you go together if he wants to go. This is kind of like asking the guy out, but not in a direct way.

How to Pick a First Date Location

This brings us to the date you go on. Where the date is will be an important factor when you go out, and movies are always the best, safest, most comfortable option. Going out for dinner is a bit awkward at first and you will probably be self conscious about eating in from of your date. Dating Advice For Teenage Girls

It sounds all romantic to go for dinner and a movie, but rather just stick to the movie part and maybe go for ice-cream afterwards or something similar.

If you want to hang out together without sitting in a cinema, it is also fun to go out to a mini golf course or fun fair. A fun first date could also be visiting an aquarium or some kind of entertainment center.

Wherever you feel most comfortable and can be yourself is what you should choose so that you can enjoy yourself and the date is more likely to go well.

What to Wear for a Date

What to wear to a first date, or any date for that matter, is the age old questions and of course you want to look fabulous, but also not look like you are trying too hard. You want to look yourself, but also look amazing. This can be hard to pull off sometimes and you also don't want to go out and buy something especially for the date that looks obvious.

The best thing is to choose one of the newest items of clothing, and pair it with something not so new. If you want to get something new, then maybe look at a new necklace or some other accessory like a brand new belt just to finish off the look.

You could also try pair clothes together that you have never done before. If you wear a dress, which there is nothing wrong with, you can make it seem more casual and fun, by wearing leggings with it. Funky and fun is probably the best look to go for, but stay pretty and girly as well.

How to Deal with the Parentals

Now, of course your parents are going to be all over you about your date, and most probably embarrass you with questions and more, so be prepared. Remember, this is not a bad thing, just annoying yes, but it shows that they love you and want to make sure that you are going to have fun, but also stay safe. Instead of getting on their bad side and causing more trouble than you have to, be one step ahead of them the whole time.

Approach them with the fact that you want to go out to movies or whatever with a boy that you like and ask if it would be OK for them to take you. Maybe suggest that you and his parents give each other a call to discuss who wants to do which lift.

Introduce the boy to your parents after school one day just so that they get used to the idea of you going out with him. This makes the whole process smoother. Ask your mom to be involved and help you pick out an outfit, ask her to do your hair or help with make-up. Moms want to feel involved and this will ease her mind about you going out with a boy on a date for the first time.

They might want to have a talk with you about kissing boys or sex or something similar, so don't freak out if they broach the subject. Ideally you should have thought about all this already and ensure them that you understand their concern and that you will not do anything to hurt them. Listen to what they say, because this is all they really want.

What to Expect from the Date

Dating Advice For Teenage GirlsSo, now that you are on the date, what will happen? Will you hold hands, does the boy expect you to kiss him? Or what should you do about buying popcorn or tickets etc?

Well, traditionally the boy should pay if he asked you out, so as a girl you should expect this, but if you have gone out as a mutual decision, more as friends, then it is probably appropriate that you each pay for yourself, or at least offer to pay and see what happens from there.

As far as kissing goes, only do what you feel is right. If you want to hold hands in the movie then do that, but you should not feel pressured. If you do not want to, then don't. A date for a teenage girl should be all about having fun, and be a great experience. With this dating advice for teenage girls, you should have a great time, so enjoy!
